Pet Frequently Asked Questions
1Where can my pet be interred?
Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens offers a tree-lined secluded area in our Pet Sanctuary for pet interment and offers memorialization options in both bronze and granite.
2I have several pets. Can they be buried together?
Yes. All of our spaces are designed to accommodate two pet interments in the same space for an additional charge.
3What about cremation options for my pet?
Cremated remains of your pet may be interred here in a traditional in-ground burial or in an above ground wall niche. We currently do not have a pet crematory on site, but we contract with a local crematory to handle this process for you and return the cremation remains of your pet to you for interment here at the cemetery.
4Can I be interred in the same space as my pet?
Yes, we do offer in-ground options for human interment with your pet placed in a space at the foot of the grave in our Faithful Friends section. We also offer a granite cremation bench which will accommodate, depending upon the size of the remains, up to four sets of human and/or pet cremated remains in an area in our Pet Sanctuary.
5How will my pet's remains get to the cemetery?
Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens offers several options. If you wish, you may transport your pet here yourself if you feel comfortable doing so. If not, we have a reliable service that we have used for many years that will pick up your pet from your home or veterinarian for an additional fee. This fee is based on the proximity of the place where your pet deceased to our location.
6What about a burial container for my pet?
We offer a selection of caskets and urns in many different materials for the interment of your pet. Although we require a burial container for interment, you may provide your own as long as it meets certain criteria. Please contact us to discuss what is available.
7How do I plan for these arrangements?
Arrangements may be made in advance at our office with our Pet Loss Specialist Mary Maxwell Fonte who will guide your family through the entire process. If a need suddenly arises, please contact us immediately at 410-666-0490 during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
8What happens if I pre-decease my pet?
By pre-paying for arrangements in advance, you may elect a family member or friend to handle the arrangements you have made here by verbally or in writing making them aware of what you have arranged for.
